Flashing the Samsung GT-C3510 (Corby Pop) (Genoa)-USB CABLE

Hey people! Well I was just working on a Samsung Corby pop. (GT-C3510) Also called Genoa in Europe and God knows where else :) I didnt find anything on the net regarding how to do it... So i decided to write about it... Ok..
-> You will need a USB cable.
-> Make sure you charge your phone to maximum battery level.
-> If you brick (kill) your phone in the process, please don't ask me. I have tested it and have not had any problems. Try this at your own risk!!!
-> Make sure there is no power failure and never plug out the data cable when the upgrade is going on. You're phone will reduce to just an expensive paper weight. :P

There are two ways of upgrading the software on this one.

1) Download Samsung New Pc Studio.
->You could get it from this link. http://www.opendrivers.com/driver/2150463/samsung-gt-c3510-new-pc-studio-1.5.1.10064_2-windows-2000-xp-vista-windows-7-free-download.html

Or you could just search for it on google.

-> Install and run the software. It should look like below.

-> Before you plug in your phone, Open Menu->Settings->Pc Connections->Always Ask.
(Change the settings to 'always ask' and save.)
-> Plug in your phone to the usb cable and then to the system. The phone will ask which option to select. Select "Pc Studio".
-> The software (Samsung New pc studio) should detect the phone. Once connected, go to the bottom of the screen on your system, you will find "Upgrade Mobile phone" as seen in the picture.
-> Click on it. It should search for any available firmware. Follow rest of the instructions on screen.

2) Using a flasher

If the above software shows "No firmware available" and you still want to flash the thing, read on! :) By the way, downloading and installing the Samsung New pc studio is required. It has the drivers for your phone.

-> Download C3510_Flash loader 7.0.4_SGH_05_v1.4 for Product 3. (I haven't tried it on any other phones except for C3510. So if you want to try it on some other phone, go ahead.)
Here is the link.  http://www.4shared.com/file/SmRHkLRk/C3510_Flasher.html

-> Download the firmware files for C3510. Here's the one's I used.
Link: http://www.4shared.com/file/Iu7_tGX8/C3510JPJF2.html
or
http://www.4shared.com/file/9mNA2APL/Samsung_C3510_Firmware_VIIL2_Z.html

-> Extract contents of the C3510 Flasher RAR to the desktop. (The whole folder). Also extract the firmware files into a folder on the desktop.

->Then run the file named "C3510_Flash loader 7.0.4_SGH_05_v1.4 for Product.exe" You will see the following interface.
-> Click on "Select Model" and browse to the folder C3510 flasher which you extracted to the desktop. Select the file C3510_GENOA_Setting_v02.mdl and click open.
-> Select BIN+STL/BIN+TFS.
-> Select with CSC
-> In Application STL, select browse and browse to the folder named Samsung C3510 Firmware VIIL2_ZVVIL2_H4 - Vivo which you extracted to the desktop. Select the file C3510DXIL7_OLAIL7_STL.bin and click open
-> In Application CSC file click browse and browse to the folder named Samsung C3510 Firmware VIIL2_ZVVIL2_H4 - Vivo which you extracted to the desktop. Select the file C3510OXEIL3.csc and click open.
-> Scroll down to the bottom and you will find "number of devices" Make that value to "1" if its not.
-> If your phone is connected, remove it and switch it off. Dont connect it yet.
-> Press Start on the C3510 flasher
->  Press and hold the volume down button and camera button of your phone together. Then connect the cable. Leave the buttons only after you hear the "new device connected" sound of windows.

-> Wait for a while, as it proceeds through the steps. If all went right it should proceed as shown in the picture.
-> After about 10 minutes or so, if the software shows "Freeing slot to connect other device"  You're done.
-> Unplug your phone. Remove the battery and wait for about 10 seconds. Then put it back in.

-> Done! Enjoy using your flashed phone! :)

  4. network problem? is ur phone by any chance a corby "colours" or some oher model of corby? that model is different from the Corby Pop.... this sometimes happens wen u flash a phone with software from a similar model but which is not exactly the same... if so, get the right firmware and do again..

if not then try finding other firmware files for the phone other than the one's i gave.. and do the above mentioned process again.. shud work.. gud luck!

  8. hi
    this is vishwas(dilip) again!
you are right my phone once dropped on the floor may be its rom problem how can i fix it? please replay as soon as possible... or do u think the phone is suitable for dustbin!!!!!!!!

    ReplyDelete
  9. @dilip: The rom's dont usually spoil with just one fall.. but it can happen depending on how bad the fall was.. anyways, the only way to fix tat wud be to give it to a service center.. A rom problem as such is a hardware issue... and have u checked the cable? try using a new cable... sometimes the same error comes incase of cable fault..

  11. what are the new features in this firmware. and can u plz upload or give the link for the orignal firmware?

    ReplyDelete
  12. @Ramanjit: There is something probably wrong with the installation file. try downloading again.
@Sarmad: Nothing much. Samsung stopped releasing any new firmware for that phone.Corby pop isnt a high level phone to offer much changes in firmware. The latest firmware is the one i uploaded and its original.

  13. it means there is nothing new in it.

thanks anyways. now i will stop searching for it

    ReplyDelete
  14. surely nothing new... like i said, there isnt much to change in a low level phone. thats probably why samsung stopped... i just put it here so that people who had issues with their existing software could reinstall it again

  19. hello i think that *2767*3855# code will turn my imei no.to 00000000000
this is why people are facing no network problem as their imei is lost so i want to ask if i dont use this *2767*3855# code while flashing , flashing completes or not??

    ReplyDelete
  20. @Rohit: Usually that's not supposed to happen. *2767*3855# only format the phone, does not format or edit the rom. So its unlikely that the imei turns to 00000.. Anyways, flashing completes without it.. no worries..

    ReplyDelete
  21. @Scorpy: Rohit seems to say the code *2767*3855# seems to clear the imei.. That could be a reason why ur phone may not be accessing the network. I dont have a way to try this since i dont use tat handset anymore. I have removed the code step. Try flashing it with the steps now.

  23. where can i get newer firmware files.......????

    ReplyDelete
  24. @rsharma: There aren't any new firmware files... Samsung hasnt been keen on supporting their small old phones... This was the only one i could find online, that too with great difficulty.

    1. Sorry bro. Its been two years since I wrote that post. I dont remember what changes it brought after flashing.. I think it made the phone a bit lighter and faster to use? :D Try at your own risk. If everything is working fine with your phone, better not to try. Not a lot of posts available for this phone...
